Reminders for Open Enrollment:
Next week, May 6-May 10 is our Open Enrollment week for new and returning students. If you would like to guarantee your students' spot for next school year, please make time to come into our office and complete a new 2024-25 Master Agreement. Our office is open M-F 8A-3P. Both parent and student must sign the Master Agreement. Parent/guardian must fill out the OLR Update in the parent portal of Infinite Campus.If your student is going to be in K-10 grades and you are living outside of the Hesperia Unified School District boundaries, you must turn in a new release form signed from the school district in which you currently reside. Students will be notified after the first week of school if space is available for interdistrict transfers (students going into 11th or 12th grade do not need a new release form to enroll, but all other students do.)
Hesperia School District Nutrition Services is providing summer meals for students aged 1-18, from June 3-27. Our school promotes equal opportunities for all.

5th grade students reviewing plant structures during lab. They were looking at plant cells under a microscope , learning about the different structures and functions of a plant, creating drawings, and dissecting flowers and identifying these structures. Go Sharks !

Today Principal Maxwell had the privilege of eating lunch with two Shadow Ridge students, 5th grade Eli and 10th grade Gianmarco. Mrs. Maxwell learned that Eli loves cars and Gianmarco wants to go into the Marines when he graduates. These two students earned lunch with Mrs. Maxwell by earning Shark Bucks. Great job Eli and Gianmarco,, we are so proud of both of you! Go Sharks!
Good morning Shark families. This week is state testing week. We know all of our students and teachers have been working so hard and are ready! Please be sure to check your child's homeroom Google Classroom for specific details regarding time and location for their state testing. Get a good night rest, eat a balanced breakfast and come prepared to testing with a charged Chromebook and charger. Let's show the high desert who has the BEST students and staff. Go Sharks!
This week in High School Biology, students used a simulation of different bird beaks. This helped them grasp the concept of natural selection and adaptation. Go Sharks !
Congratulations to our elementary, Jr high, and high school students who participated in the HUSD IEXPO competition. Our school won 6 awards at this district competition. The students competed in Culinary, Drama, Engineering, Speech and Debate, and Art events. Shadow Ridge won the overall high school award with 3 1st place awards in Drama (10 th grader Ke Mya Jackson) , Culinary (10 th grader Ke Mya Jackson) and Art (12th grader Sonia Vicente) . Jr high students, Sophie Felix and Sophia Nunez, won 2nd place in the Culinary competition. Our 3rd grader, Mattison Hicks won 1st place for Drama and Improv. Our amazing 5th graders (Cali Morales, Eli Valdez, Bella Ayala, and Juan Estrada) competed in Engineering and Speech and Debate events. Thank you all for your hard work representing our school. What a great way to celebrate our soon-to-be grads today as they prepare to end their high school careers in a few short weeks! Seniors got to come in and pick up their cap and gowns and take pictures with their friends and families! There were lots of snacks, celebrations, and we made some fun memories...We love our Shark family!
This week the high school forensic science class conducted a lab studying toxicology. They learned how forensic chemists conduct these tests in the real world and were able to conduct their own tests in the lab. Go Sharks !
Mrs. Chavez 5th graders had a blast today in their Geology lab! They had the opportunity to identify various types of rocks and learn what makes them all unique and important to our world.
Cap & Gown Distribution Day is TOMORROW, Friday, April 12th 11AM-2PM at HUSD Annex)
Students can come in and pick up their cap and gown units that they ordered from Jostens.
If you did not order online, you can pick yours up, but you must have CASH ONLY. The cost is $45. Please bring exact amount.
There will be refreshments and little gifts from us to our seniors.
Seniors have the opportunity to put on their cap and gown and take pictures with their friends and family members.
Mrs. Jacob's Photography students will be there with several props and backgrounds to choose from. Hope to see all of our Class of 2024 graduates there!
